iet's extra: Spine of Desire

Wounds without tears, out of one skin in diamonds and shit

music
02—03.05.2025

After the performance, iet's extra invites you to linger a bit longer in the performers' universe. As music played a big part in their artistic process, Stanley Ollivier invites you to discover Minais B, the Copenhagen-based composer and producer Villads Klint, and the Italo-Congolese singer and composer Laryssa Kim. Two artists who have contributed to the making of the performance. They will each offer a live concert on 2 and 3 May.

Minais B is Copenhagen-based composer and producer Villads Klint. Playfulness is a key element in Klint’s compositions where contrasting musical ideas are woven into adventurous narratives. Themes of loss and transformation tie a thread between Klint’s pieces where inner and outer worlds meet, seamlessly blending organic sensibilities with programmed patterns. On his forthcoming release ‘And i know i can feel bad when i get in a bad mood’ (June 2025) Klint takes us on a spiralling quest of ambivalence and doubt in a post-heartbreak atmosphere. Not afraid to be melodramatic, the project offers a kaleidoscopic meditation on grief, addressing feelings of loss, longing and shame.

• Now based in Brussels, Laryssa Kim is an Italo-Congolese singer and composer with an arresting set of influences. Described by Pitchfork as an "exploration of the limits of the unconscious," her debut album 'Contezza’, released in February 2024 through the Belgian imprint City Tracks and co-published with InFiné, received outstanding attention from both the public and the press. Her live show integrates lighting and video projections that create an intriguing blend of live music and performance art. In parallel with her solo project, she is active as a composer for dance, theatre and video, with upcoming commissions for productions with KVS, Viernulvier, Kaaitheater, deSingel, De-theatermaker, vrt, rtbf, etc.
